Diversifying Your Notary Business With Field Inspections

I believe that one of the greatest things about being a full-time Notary and business owner is that there is no limit to the number of avenues of income you can obtain. In this blog and YouTube series, we will dive into just a fraction of how you can diversify your Notary Business. Today we're talking about Field inspections.

As you can see above, there is a link to my YouTube interview with my friend and colleague, Stephanie Russo. She shares her experience with field inspections and how they can be easily a fluidly integrated with your mobile Notary business. I encourage you to check it out.

Field Inspections, what is that? That's a fair question, especially if this is the first time you have heard about it. Field inspections- simply put- are simply assignments you take to visit, deliver, take pictures of, or speak to people in your immediate area. You could be delivering paperwork on defaulted loans or mortgages or taking pictures of cars that have been in car accidents and submitting pictures to the insurance company. The truth is, the type of Field inspections could include doing a who litany of small and quick tasks.

We will get into the different companies you can work for, but let's first talk about education. Do you need to get certified or take a class to do Field Inspections? Nope. Most companies you contract with will have their own training or information for you to review to work with them.

Where do these assignments happen? Across the street from your house or 45 minutes away and everywhere. The beauty of this business is that you set your service area, much like you do for your Notary business. You decide how far you are willing to travel, and those are the only jobs you will be offered, most of the time.

How much money can you make? Field inspection jobs and companies can vary in the amount per appointment they pay. They range from $7-$40 per assignment. Even with these low payments, the benefit of Field inspections is they take somewhere between 2-10 minutes, depending on the assignment. We are arent’ counting the travel time because if you set it up right, your assignments will be where you already are. Do 10-15 assignments a week, and you might see how that extra income could be helpful to your bottom line.

What companies hire field inspectors? Well, tons, but for today’s blog, we are going to stick with the companies that Stephanie Russo suggests in our interview. Below are links to the field inspection companies.
